Classes just started at Southwestern, and I’m officially back on campus teaching three classes this semester (two sections of Survey of American Literature, and Black Women Writers). My sabbatical last semester was productive, but I’m enjoying all the dynamic energy of being back in the classroom. This semester, my Black Women Writers students will be blogging on WordPress as well. Check out their work here: Black Women Writers @ Southwestern University.
In terms of my own ongoing research, I’m still making progress on my book project and I have a couple of related pieces under review. I’ve also been thinking longingly about writing something completely new (perhaps entering the critical fray on Django Unchained? I’d love to read it as a neo-slave narrative); we’ll see where this semester leads.
